The search found that 53.3 percent of users who opened emails on Android phones were engaged for 15 seconds or more, with the same amount of time for 41.9 percent of emails read on the Android tablet and 41.5 percent on the iPhone.

Emails opened up by desktop users actually outperformed iPad users; 36.6 percent to 30.2 percent.

Moreover, the hospitality and travel industries saw the most success with email marketing campaigns on both desktop and mobile devices. The consumer services industry leads in mobile opens.
