How Can Video Help Email Marketing?

The best part about email marketing is its interactivity. No longer is marketing and advertising a passive endeavor in which a company buys ad time or places an ad in a print medium and hopes customers catch it in between flipping channels or turning the pages in a newspaper.
That said, though, email marketing has also come a long way from the days in which absorbing marketing via the inbox was considered revolutionary. It’s not just enough anymore to send an email and expect to engage people with it.

1.) Video is at the forefront of the social media and email marketing revolution. Of all the ways to absorb social media, video is the most established. People now expect all companies to offer videos on their websites and to have a presence on YouTube. Not doing so—even if the product doesn’t necessarily lend itself to something easily associated with video—puts a company at risk of losing business before it even makes the initial connection.
2.) With that in mind, video is REALLY interactive! There’s no better way to sample a product than by watching it in action. Regardless of what you are selling, showing people purchasing, using and enjoying the product is the best type of advertisement. And this interactivity opens up an entirely new world to marketers, since video is the way to spread word of mouth these days.
3.) Videos embedded in the body of an email provide legitimacy and credibility. Let’s face it: Anyone can upload a video to YouTube! But while the social media tools of email marketing software allow videos to be easily shared on platforms such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, people are far more likely to take a video seriously when it can be viewed within the email itself. That shows a certain initiative, which in turn speaks well for the company and its product. Video is just one reason why social media and email marketing is a marriage made in heaven!
