Once the leaves start dropping on the ground, everyone becomes pumpkin-obsessed and emerged into everything fall has to offer. There are a handful of important events to take advantage of as an email marketer in the fall, such as Halloween, Daylight Savings, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. As such, there are plenty of enticing email marketing campaigns to launch during this time of year, and the following are a few good examples:

Daylight Savings

When Daylight Savings ends on November 6, it will start getting darker earlier at night. When this happens, provide some light to your consumers by offering a discount or flash sale. Better yet, offer a free product with the purchase of another product.


Halloween is the perfect time to get creative with your email marketing campaign. Witches, ghouls and goblins won’t scare your customers away, they will do the opposite! Offer a fun online sale, an event in-store or any other savings that will get consumers in the spooky spirit. After all, Americans spent a reported $6.9 billion on Halloween in 2015.

Black Friday

Everyone and their mother takes advantage of Black Friday, so get in on the action. Thanksgiving is on Thursday, November 24 this year, so Black Friday falls on November 25. Offer a pre-Black Friday sale and make sure your mobile platform is in good shape. Send an email campaign with a promo code that consumers can use in-store with their phones, since most customers check their emails for coupons before shopping.

Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday is the same concept as Black Friday but solely online-based, so again, make sure your mobile strategy is on point. In order to capitalize on the biggest online shopping event of the year, send out offers early enough in advance that shoppers are ready and eager to shop with you on the actual day. Holiday shoppers get more eager with each year, so send Cyber Monday email campaigns out really early (but still timely) to stay ahead of the competition.


Pumpkin beer, pumpkin candles, pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin flavored coffee – the list goes on and on. Right before the first day of fall, get your customers in the fall spirit by constructing an email marketing campaign with pumpkins as the star of the show.


When Thanksgiving rolls around, it’s the time of year to give thanks. Make sure your customers feel appreciated by setting up an email marketing campaign that thanks them, just because. Also take this time to showcase ways your company gives back, which will generate long-term loyalty from your customers. Send out this campaign a little earlier than your competitors and you won’t get lost in a sea of “thank you” emails.
